English Cabaret in association with C theatre present...
'Casson is a seasoned performer and holds it all together as she sings original songs, including a tribute to political journalist Jeremy Paxman.... she has a great rapport with the audience and a gorgeous voice'
'as charming as the cupcakes handed out to the audience members
and a pleasant way to spend an hour on a drizzly Edinburgh day.'
The English Rose of the contemporary cabaret scene,
Sue Casson, returns for a second year with another
mouth-watering smörgåsbord of song, satire and shortbread. Her playfully poignant original songs are featured alongside the English Singing Baker, on hand to provide a virtuoso display of cantabile cake baking, and comedy sketches from Upload. Be prepared for some exciting chance meetings with unexpected guests.
At the Edinburgh Fringe this year Casson looks forward to singing some of her most recent songs, touching on how to stand out in a crowd, the insinuating appeal of modern music and premieres a brand new tribute song.
Hear her talk about it here...
Casson is currently developing her solo show for Autumn 2015, working title a woman, a piano, and how some songs came to be putting together a rattlebag of her original songs and telling their stories, as well as recording some for release.
